The of the fourth prize in this year’s Golden Kiwi Christmas lottery will receive a car which is said to be worth $lOO,OOO. It will be a 50th Anniversary Nissan 300ZX, production of which has been limited to 5000 world-wide. It is the car that Nissan has built to mark its fiftieth birthday. The bodywork is finished in silver down to shin level where three gold pinstripes from a boundary, below which the finish is in black. Black also contrasts with the silver around the windows and from the dark,
reflectorised detachable roof panels. Special 6.5 inch wide-tyred alloy wheels, are trimmed in gold to tone with the general colour ' scheme. Front and rear spoilers are the other external features. Space-age instrumentation is the internal feature. A digital read-out denotes speed, while bar graphs are employed to show oil pressure, water temperature, fuel level and voltage. The tachometer’s video image has been likened to an ocean wave which rises, crests and crashes simul-
taneously with accelerator -pedal movement. Among the instruments is an accelerometer which measures the acceleration of the car within a range of 0.5 g positive and negative. Also included are an electronic navigation system and a climate control system which monitors seven sensors that read outside ambient temperature, sun strength and various cockpit temperature levels. The 300ZX is powered by an electronically fuel injected 2960 cu.cm V 6 engine which develops 133 kW at 5200 r.p.m:
