Two 4WD models
Mitsubishi is introducing four-wheel-drive Tredia saloon and Cordia coupe models in Japan but, according to Porirua-based Todd Motors, the New Zealand assembler and distributor of Mitsubishi vehicles, there are no plans to import or assemble these 4WD cars here at this stage. The system used in the Tredia and Cordia uses a
push-button changeover switch, which is combined with the Super Shift 4x2 transmission. This permits the driver to select standard front-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive according to the conditions. Four-wheel-drive is offered on the standard Tredia saloon only, but on the Cordia it is offered on the turbocharged verison.
