SHELLY GOUDREAU RATED N.Z. BASED SIRE “THE BEST" X Trainer/driver Shelly Goodreau (driver of the winners of over SUS 10 million) felt before the Woodrow Wilson that he had the top 2 year old In the country. Apollo’s Way finished fourth in that race after racing in heavy traffic almost all the way. Shelly Goudreau stated that near the end Apollo's Way .broke free and was flying. He said “with, just a quarter mile to go, he was still eighth; at the top of the stretch he was seventh; over seven lengths behind the leader, at the end, he was beaten by just a length and a half, pacing his last quarter In 28 seconds after being parked every step of the way.” Goudreau stated later, prior to the Kentucky Derby, "my colt Is the best and he will win the Kentucky Pacing Derby. He won the Hoosier Futurity at Indianapolis in straight heats over an off track and came back last week to easily win the second Pacing Derby elimination heat in 1:58.4(h)." Prior to Apollo's Way racing the next season io the Cane Pace as a 3-Yoar-Okf, Shelly Goudreau has this to say of Apollo’s Way: “I raced him very conservatively last year for the ability I think he has,” said Goudreau. "I think that is in my favour now. The nicest thing about my horse Is that it doesn’t matter what racetrack he is on. He is just a bull. He Is as good as the rest of them." Apollo's Way is standing this season at Derek Dynes' Tactile Lodge. R.D. 6, Ashburton. Phone Wlnchmore 750. Advt.
