New series for children
Cassie Palmer, the seventh child of a seventh child, refuses to believe that she has any psychic powers. But her mother, whose own powers are suspect, is convinced her daughter will one day become a famous medium and carry on the family tradition. The story of how Cassie tries to prove her mother wrong is told in “The Haunting of Cassie Palmer,” a new six-part children’s drama series from Britain, starting on One at 5 p.m. today. Based on the book by Vivian Alcock, the series was written by Alfred Shaughnessy, who also wrote "Upstairs Downstairs.”
The director of “The Haunting of Cassie Palmer,” is Dorothea Brooking, whose previous credits include “The Railway Children,” “The Secret Garden” and “The Moon Stallion.” The
producer is Anna Home, who was responsible for the - children’s series, "Grange Hill.” ?
