"Cry God for Harry’
NZPA-PA London < A group of Tory members of Parliament have called on the Prince and Princess of Wales to have their second son baptised Harry and not Henry. Harry Greenway (Ealing North), who was himself baptised Harry, said “Henry is too turgid a name for a Prince with such exciting parents.” He has tabled a Commons motion, which is gathering support from Tory, backbenchers, congratulating Prince Charles and Princess Diana on the birth and
urging them to make the name Harry “official.” “I was baptised Harry and I don’t allow anyone to call me Henry. Harry is a swashbuckling, dashing, and robust name which is in tune with the 1980 s,” said Mr Greenway. “It has the ring of England about it while Henry has French connotations. “I don’t want to sound too chauvinistic but, like Shakespeare, we should be saying, ‘Cry God for Harry! England and St George!’ Prince Harry was named Henry Charles Albert David.
