Arrests after chase
Two youths will appear in the District Court today after a burglary and vehicle chase through Christchurch streets last evening. The youths, aged 18 and 19, are alleged to have broken into the Montreal Street premises of Henry Berry, Ltd, about 9.30 p.m. by throwing a bottle through a toilet window. A microwave oven was stolen. The youths left in a stolen car.' The police arrived at the scene soon after the burglary, and chased the car through central and southern city streets for about skm. Bottles were thrown from the car at the police vehicles. The car was stopped and the two occupants apprehended in Barrington Street. The microwave oven was recovered frory the back seat of the car.
