Tennis seed ousted
NZPA-AAP Sydney The New Zealander,’ Julie Richardson, ousted the sixth seed, Helena Olsson, of Sweden, 4-6, 7-6, 6-2 in the Murfett Australian hardcourt tennis championships in Sydney yesterday. Richardson will be joined in the quarter-finals by two other New Zealanders, the third-seeded Michelle Parun, and the eighth seed, Belinda Cordwell. Cordwell, from Wellington, beat the American, Dianne Farrell, 7-6, 2-6, 7-6 while Parun rallied to down an Australian, Jackie Masters, 6-7. 6-2. 6-1.
