Tennis postponed
The third round of the men’s and women’s BNZ senior tennis championships was postponed yesterday after only 45 minutes play, and the entire round will be played again at a later date. Play started on the grass courts at Wilding Park an hour late and in a howling south-west wind, but the players had been unable to complete any of the doubles before a hailstorm brought a halt to play. At that point officials decided to abandon play, much to the relief of players who had found the conditions extremely trying. No date has been set yet for the catch up round.
