Woman rammed nightclub doors
PA Auckland A young woman rammed the doors of a nightclub with her car after she was thrown out of the nightclub, the District Court at Auckland heard yesterday. Sergeant Peter Hawke said Deane Virginia Maule, aged 23, a clerk, of Morningside, drove her car on to the pavement of Queen Street and . twice rammed the Club 21’s doors early yesterday.' morning. Maule stopped ramming the doors when she was restrained by a doorman.
Sergeant Hawke said she had not previously appeared in court. ‘ Maule pleaded guilty to a charge of doing intentional damage. jj The duty solicitor, Mb Tamihana Paki, said Maule had been put out of the club but had wanted to go backto get her sister, aged 17, who had been with her. Judge Kerr said he could not believe somebody of Maule’s obvious good character could stoop so low. “What on earth possessed you?” he asked. He fined Maule $2OO.
