Plane fleet seller dies
PA Wellington Mr Stan Mann, who was responsible for selling successive Governments most of New Zealand’s civil aircraft fleet, has died in Wellington. Mr Mann was the general manager of Todd Brothers aircraft division which represented the major aircraft manufacturers Boeing and Fokker. He was well known to members of Parliament and was regarded as an astute lobbyist and businessman. His most recent success was the sale to Air New Zealand of twin-engine Boeing 767 aircraft which have yet to arrive in the country. Mr Mann was also involved in Air New Zealand’s decision to purchase its Boeing 747 fleet.
