N.Z. firm to make Aust. flags

PA' Auckland An Auckland company will fly flags in Australia because no Australian manufacturer could be found to produce bunting for the Australian bicentenary. Blue Grass Products will print 1000 Australian flags for community kits being distributed to local bodies by the Bicentennial ityBlue Grass’s director, Mr Jack Lang, said that the company pioneered the screen printing of flags which brought the price down considerably on traditionally made flags. Mass-produced 2m flags such as the Australian order sold for $38.50. The Bicentennial Authority’s merchandising manager, Mr John Taylor, has said that no Australian company could meet the necessary standard.
