Manufacturers told to note other ways
PA Wellington New Zealand should heed the way other countries achieve economic objectives and overcome their disabilities, a manufacturers’ leader said. New Zealand clearly had limited funds for development and they must be used to the best advantage, the president of the Wellington Manufacturers’ Association, Mr Peter Sukolski, told the association’s annual luncheon. “Manufacturing in New Zealand has made remarkable strides in recent
years,” Mr Sukolski said. “But as new policies are developed, I believe that heed needs to be taken of the way in which Governments elsewhere achieve their objectives and the way in which other countries overcome their disabilities. “Unless the climate and the encouragement and the confidence are there to produce the willingness to undertake the risks and investments, the New Zealand economy will not achieve the dynamic character which is vital in international competition,” Mr Sukolski said.
