RULES FOR WHITEBAIT FISHING THE RESTRICTIONS THAT apply to whitebait fishing in the North and South Islands (except the West Coast) and in the Chatham Islands are as follows: OPEN SEASONS (a) The whitebait season in the North Island is from August 1 to November 30. (b) The South Island season Is from September 1 to * November 14. (c) The Chatham Islands season is from December 1 to February 29. NETS (a) Whitebait nets which have a net mouth bigger than 4.5 m and which are greater than 3.5 m in overall length are prohibited. j (b) The use of more than one whitebait net at any time is also prohibited. (2) A water rate of 0.1608 dollars per cent land value to every separately rateable property connected to the supply with a minimum rate of $lO and a half water rate (0.804 dollars per cent and land value) to properties not connected to the supply but within 100 metres of it with a minimum rate of $5 (pursuant to Section 143 (1) (j) Local Government Act 1974). (3) A refuse rate of 0.2110 dollars per cent land value on all properties from which the council is prepared to remove refuse (pursuant to Section 143 (1) (f) Local Government Act 1974). (4) A Riccarton Town Centre differential loan rate of 0.6340 dollars per cent on the land value of properties in the differential rating area (pursuant to Sections 147 plus 147 A Local Government Act 1974 and Section 47 Local Authorities Loans Act 1956). (5) North Canterbury Catchment Board Rates of 0.10249 dollars per cent land value (as directed by the Board pursuant to the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941). (6) Christchurch Drainage Board rates of total 0.41798 dollars per cent capital value (as directed by the Board pursuant to Christchurch District Drainage Act 1951). (7) Christchurch Transport Board rates of 0.19348 dollars per cent capital value (as directed by the Board pursuant to Christchurch Tramway District Act 1920). Notice is further given that the whole of the abovementioned rates will be due and payable on Wednesday, September 19, 1984 and an additional charge of 10 per cent will be added to all rates not paid on or before Wednesday, March 20, 1985.
