Shamrock and Christchurch United’s reserve team will meet in the final of the English Cup soccer competition, after semi-finals wins at English Park last evening. Shamrock advanced with a comfortable 2-0 win over New Brighton. Its goals, both in the second half, and within five minutes of each other, came from the experienced defender, Tony Steer, and Andy
Goudswaard. United scored the only goal of its match against CashmereWanderers, and generally dominated the game. Simon Myers scored the goal, a well-taken effort in the first half. Brent Berry, twice, and Simon Owens both missed excellent scoring chances in the second half for United. The final will be played next Wednesday night.
