Police raid gangs
Shotguns, knives, and batons were seized when the police raided the headquarters of two Christchurch gangs early yesterday morning.
The police also found stolen property and cannabis in the houses, in Linwood and Addington. The gangs involved brawled twice with each other last week-end. A fra-
cas broke out at the New Brighton Tavern on Saturday afternoon and subsequently two men, one from each gang, were taken to Christchurch Hospital with minor injuries. Friends of the two injured men started fighting at the accident and emergency department of the hospital later in the afternoon.
