Jack Chance on the move
Special correspondent Dunedin Jack Chance, the sire of ten two-minute performers, will stand at Merton, near Waikouaiti this season. Jack Chance has been located at the Dalgety’s Belmedia Stud at Kakanui. He has been replaced with another North American stallion, Jiffy Boy. Jack Chance will stand on the property of Nola and Charlie Robinson at Merton. Mrs Robinson is a daughter of the Belmedia Stud’s proprietor, Mr Jim Dalgety. The Robinson’s stand Donald Bruce, the sire of Bother, which set a world record for an aged mare on
a five furlong (1000 m track when she recorded Imin 55.8 s at Sportsman’s Park, Chicago in July. The record was lowered to lmin 54.25, by Brooklet’s Pride a few nights later. Donald Bruce which broke a knee after recording one placing in eight ■starts, is a son of Out to Win and Lakeda and thus a half-brother to the wellperformed Lancer Hanover. Jack Chance’s best performer is Family Fun (lmin 54.45). He is also the sire of the good winners, Spangle’s Gold, Superior Chance, Yonder Chance (lmin 565), Butler Hanover, Jack Ryler, Tom Pepper, Not A Chance, and Musket.
