Deadlock stays
The Libyan leader, Colonel Muammar Gadaffi, is apparently trying to patch up Morocco’s differences with Algeria over the Western Sahara, but the deadlock seems unbroken. Colonel Gadaffi met King Hassan in the east Moroccan frontier town of Oujda, discussed the eight-year conflict between Morocco and Algerianbacked Polisario guerrillas, and then flew to Algiers to meet President Chadli Benjedid. — Rabat
