House badly damaged

Fire badly damaged a house in Hardwicke Street, Sumner, early yesterday. Firemen from the Woolston and Sumner stations were called about 1.30 a.m. and had put out the blaze within an hour. The house was unoccupied. It is believed that the owners are on holiday in Australia.
