Rakaia objections in early October?
Objections to and submissions on the draft Rakaia River conservation order are likely to be heard by the Planning Tribunal in early October. The District Commissioner of Works, Mr R. D. Grant, told the Canterbury United Council’s regional planning committee yesterday that although no firm date had been set for the hearing, it would follow an appeal against the Ahuriri River conservation order. His department was working on the premise that this was likely to be in early October. The committee would invite the incoming Minister of Works and Development, Mr Colman, to meet to discuss general planning matters as soon as possible, said Mr Grant.
