Sunday concert cancelled
The New Zealand Symphony Orchestra has cancelled its concert - at the Christchurch Town Hall on Sunday. The concert, which was to have featured the orchestra’s principal guest conductor, Franz-Paul Decker, and the Irish mezzo-soprano, Bernadette Greevy, was cancelled because of poor ticket sales. Both artists will appear in the orchestra’s concert at the Town Hall on Saturday, with the English baritone, John Shirley-Quirk. The programmes for both concerts were outlined in an article in the “Living Arts” pages of “The Press” yesterday. Tickets for the Saturday concert are selling well, according to a spokesman.
