NZPA-AP Peking Accompanied by a top Australian veterinarian, 22 Merino rams have arrived in Peking for breeding with Chinese sheep. The official Chinese new agency, Xinhua, said Mr J. M. Armstrong, the chief veterinary officer for Western Australia, handed the rams over to Xiang Zhongyang, the vice-minister of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, during a ceremony. “These rams will be sent to Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, and Jilin for stockbreeding experts to improve the quality of China’s fine-wool sheep,” the agency said.
