Kitchen for Moon
NZPA-AFP Danbury, Connecticut Sun Myung Moon, the head of the Unification Church, would scrub pots and pans in a Federal prison where he has just started serving an 18-month sentence for income tax evasion, a prison spokesman said yesterday. Moon, aged 64, who surrendered to prison authorities on Saturday, had been assigned to work in the kitchen. Moon’s duties would include helping cook meals, washing dishes, and cleaning the canteen, the spokesman said. The Danbury prison has a reputation as a “soft” regime prison, but all its inmates have to work.
Moon was found guilty in 1982 of failing to declare $U5162,000 as income on his United States tax returns.
