Refurbished premises

The refurbished premises of the Christchurch branch of SKF New Zealand, Ltd, will be officially opened at 2 p..m. today by the Swedish Ambassador, Mr Christer Sylven. Also present for the occasion will be the company’s chairman, Mr G. Bengtsson, from Singapore, and the managing director, Mr J. Haggqvist, from Lower Hutt. With renovations completed, the staff of SKF in Christchurch are appreciating the benefits of a modern office complex and the increased efficiency which this brings. “Each work station is equipped with sufficient catalogue data and computer screens (V-D.U.s) to give an immediate response to any inquiry,” says the branch manager, Mr John Clynes.

“Even after normal trading hours, a customer can ring our branch office 24 hours a day to gain direct access for an urgent bearing replacement.” The SKF Christchurch team has a combined bearing experience of more than 70 years. ‘“We have the capacity, competence and, most of all, the dedication to service the needs of every customer,” says Mr Clynes. “We feel it is necessary to match the quality of our products with the quality of our service.” SKF Christchurch supports a network of distributors throughout the South Island and works in closely with them. All the allied products relating to bearings are also stocked by the branch.
