‘Maori for all’
Parliamentary reporter Labour is committed to making available the Maori language to everyone who wants it, according to Dr Bruce Gregory (Northern Maori).
Dr Gregory is an expert on Maoritanga and traditional Maori culture and history. Dr Gregory said Maori was not seen as a commercially important language but as a common bond all New Zealanders should share to create a New Zealand identity.
