Musicians picked for orchestra

Twenty-one Christchurch musicians have been included in the National Youth Orchestra named this week. The 1984 orchestra was announced by Mr Peter Avert, assistant general manager of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, who conducted the auditions. More than 200 applicants auditioned during May for the 90 places. The musicians are aged from 14 to 24. The players selected from Christchurch are Allister Bush, Duncan Catanach, Sandra Clark, Penelope Dawson, Lisa Egen, Nicola Fogden, Seamus Hogan, Judith Horrill, John McKeogh, Helen Mann, Wayne Morriss, David Pearce, Nigel Purdy, Andrew Rains, Sandra Richardson, Katherine Rowe, Janet Sim, Louise Thomson, Anthony van Buren, Jocelyn Woodley, and Jane Wright.
