Kirwan’s surgery
NZPA Adelaide The Auckland wing, John Kirwan, had a screw inserted in his right shoulder on Tuesday night that will keep him out of rugby for the remainder of the season. He was said to be resting comfortably in a recovery
ward today after the 20minute operation at Adelaide’s Calvary Hospital. Surgeons who operated on the 19-year-old found that the damage to his shoulder was more serious than first thought. It is expected to take 10 weeks to heal.
