Time put back
The clock outside the Central Canterbury Electric Power Board’s building on the Main South Road, Hornby, is back in place after an absence of five weeks. The landmark, 2.5 m in diameter, has been rewired and a new 250 watt heater and fluorescent tubes fitted. It took workmen an hour to lift the 700 kg clock back into position.
