New Navy ship nears home port
PA Wellington The Navy’s new frigate H.M.N.Z.S. Southland will make a brief call at Wellington on Saturday as she nears the end of her delivery voyage from Britain. The ship will arrive at midday and spend six hours at Wellington to fuel and complete customs and Department of Agriculture formalities. The brief stopover will also permit the ship’s company to vote at the General Election. H.M.N.Z.S. Southland’s delivery voyage will end on Monday when the ship arrives at her home port of Bluff for a 10-day visit.
