Boots gets all

Sir,—l am suffering some embarrassment because of the behaviour of my dog Boots. He was reading Monday’s copy of “The Press” when he began to give loud, happy barks. I took the paper and discovered that the cause of his pleasure was an advertisement for dog the kind that he enjoys. I quote from this advertise-

ment the line which sparked off the mirth: “So get rolling and buy your dog the meal he really wants.” This is blatant sex discrimination. In the whole advertisement it’s dog, he, or him all the time. Please ask the makers of this dog food to apologise to all female dogs and you are not without blame for accepting the advertisement. — Yours, etc., F. S. ATKINS. July 10, 1984.
