Poll results on Teletext
From 7 p.m. on Saturday, Television New Zealand’s Teletext service will provide coverage of election voting. A Teletext terminal is being installed in the Avalon TV centre, to input progress reports into the Teletext system, which is
based in Christchurch. This service will be closely linked with the “Decision 84” programme on One.
Teletext viewers will be able to call up pages 500-552 and have available a comprehensive record of results. For the first time in New Zealand, television viewers will be able to see significant results as a news flash superimposed on both One and Two programmes.
The election results service on Teletext should be of special interest to those with impaired hearing.
