Milkfat record
New Zealand milkfat production for the 1983-84 season has been an all-time record of 323.4 million kg. This is over 11 per cent higher than the previous record of 290.9 million kg produced in 1979-80, states the latest issue of Commodity Report, compiled by the economic division of the M.A.F. In the South Island 21 million kg of milkfat were produced, nearly 17 per cent more than last year. Milkfat processed during the month was 10.3 million kg, up to 102.22 per cent on last May.
