Lake levels down
Wellington reporter Hydro storage levels in both the North Island and South Island fell slightly from 77 to 76 per cent last week, according to the Electricity Divison of the Ministry of Energy. Generation from both the Huntly and New Plymouth power stations is being kept at the maximum to conserve hydro storage. North Island hydro storage is being used in preference to the South Island. A record for demand was set on June 6, reaching 2985 megawatts for the North Island and a national total of 4600.
