Two Sydney detectives are in Christchurch as part of a police search for a Lower Hutt man and his girlfriend who went missing in Sydney in late February. The detectives are in Christchurch this week-end to talk to a woman who the Sydney police believe may be able to help their inquiry. Bernard Gray and his Australian girlfriend, Maria Fiore, have not been seen since they went to dinner in Sydney on February 21. Their vehicle was later found abandoned. Their bank accounts have not been touched.
A spokesman for the Sydney police said late last month that fears were held for the couple’s safety, and had been since they were first discovered missing.
