Handsome Heir, a Riccar-ton-trained stayer competing at the Queensland autumn carnival, and Admiral Blair, the 1982 winner of the Parliamentary Handicap, at Trentham, were Canterbury nominations for the sAusts2s,ooo Melbourne Cup, when New Zealand entries closed yesterday. Handsome Heir and Admiral Blair have also been nominated for the ?Au5t325,000 Caulfield Cup, along with the talented Ric-carton-trained rising three-year-old, Pokare. Pokare, which numbered the C.J.C. Great Western Champagne Stakes at Easter in a smart lmin 9.92 s (1200 m among his four wins this term; and Hide the Loot, a winner and four times placed in his debut season; are Canterburytrained entries for the ?Aust3oo,ooo V.R.C.
