New leather cleaning specialist

ADRIAN BROKKING
The expertise of the management of a leather-wear fashion company, two drycleaning experts, a highlyqualified leather tanner, and a chemical engineer have combined to form a company unique in New Zealand. Revival Processors, Ltd, is a specialist cleaner using the latest techniques to revive suede, fur, sheepskin, and leather garments, including repair and in some cases redesign to bring them back to a near-new condition. Garments are being sent to the Christchurch company from all over New Zealand. On Thursday, the company’s new premises in Clarence Street were officially opened by the Mayor of Riccarton, Mr R. J. Harrington. This building will also house an associate company, Fine Leather Care
Products, Ltd, which distributes cleaners, erasers, revivers, woolwash and water proofing products not only throughout New Zealand, but to Australia and Canada (with labels in the French language). The two companies were formed as a joint venture between Taylors Drycleaning and Laundry Services, and Marcol Manufacturers, Ltd, a Christchurch manufacturer and exporter of leather fashion wear. When the Taylor family interests sold their holding in Taylor’s to an Auckland group, Messrs D. L. and M. L. Taylor personally purchased the Taylor shareholding in Revival Processors. Revival’s chairman is Mr J. C. Collingwood, who is managing director of Marcol. Another director is Mr R. Boult, former chief executive of Knight Industries, Ltd, now a subsidiary of Southland Frozen Meat, Ltd.
