Assault on officers charges withdrawn
PA Auckland Two men charged with assaulting two traffic officers had the charges against them withdrawn by the police in the District Court at Auckland Counsel for the two men, Mr Michael Heart, said that the tables had been turned. “The persons making the complaint have themselves been charged.” Clinton Blundell, aged 35, a salesman of Mt Eden, had been charged with assaulting David Frank Johnson, a
traffic officer, in the execution of his duty and assaulting David William Bradbury, then a traffic officer, in the execution of his duty. He had pleaded not guilty to both charges. Stephen Allan Thompson, aged 35, a warehouseman, had pleaded not guilty to assaulting David Frank Johnson, in the execution of his duty. Both traffic officers have appeared on charges of assault with intent to injure and causing grievious bodily harm with intent to injure?
