Viggers’ squash benefit

The High School Old Boys squash tournament, sponsored by Naturally New Zealand, proved to be a Viggers benefit at the week-end. Paul Viggers, ranked No. 3 in New Zealand, won the men’s title after being taken to five games in the final by Robbie Burnett, and Carolyn Viggers easily won the women’s title, conceding only five points to Freda Walker? There was a titanic struggle for honours in the men’s division two final before Nigel Lioyd (Burnside) scraped home aga'inst Tony Robinson (Christchurch Football), 9-5, 3-9, 8-10, 10-9, 10-8, after 94min.
