Party selects candidates

Three candidates will contest Christchurch electorates on behalf of the Citizens' Democratic Party at this year's General Election. The party, which believes that import controls should be kept in place to eliminate unemployment and keep down the overseas debt, was formed in 1981. It aims to promote selfreliance, self-discipline and respect for others and to

foster a more caring and healthy outlook. It recently released a 12page booklet of policies for this year’s election. In 1981. the party leader. Mr Geoff Bucknail, stood in the Yaldhurst electorate. He received 81 votes. Mr Bucknall will stand for Yaldhurst again this year. Mr Mark Sadler will stand in St Albans and Mr Kevin Graham will represent the party in Sydenham.
