Meaning and power today
Mrs J. E. Viney: Nearly 2000 years ago, Jesus Christ was killed because of His claims that (a) He and God existed within each other and He was God's Son, (b) He would live, walk and talk again after He had been killed, (c) He was giving up His life to show God’s forgiveness to those who hated and did not believe Him. As He was dying He said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” Jesus's words still have meaning and power today. He forgives those who acknowledge who He is and believe Him. May any who are genuinely looking, as I was in 1967, for the truth about Jesus Christ, not be deceived or confused by Professor Geering, I am so glad I was not. Instead, Jesus showed me Himself in all His reality and power. He is risen, He lives, I know Him, and He is real.
