Acting out the Golden Rule

A. J. Moulton (Reefton): The terms Christian or Christianity appear to cause confusion. As a lay person, I suggest the following definitions covered by those words. Christian behaviour; A person who, while not necessarily believing in God, is good, kind or considerate, acting out the Golden Rule. “Churchianity”: Attending church, but behaviour not necessarily, although it may be, Christian. Sacramental Christianity: Feeling close to God through church sacraments. Denominationalism: Believing denominational tradition is the correct way to serve and worship God. Basic Christianity: Accepting Jesus Christ as saviour, and obeying Him as lord and master. CharismaticPentecostal Christianity: Basic Christianity, with the whole Bible being accepted as relevant today. This includes gifts of the Holy Spirit, e.g. healings, prophecy, speaking and interpreting tongues, etc. And as no person can be put in a “definition box,” all these factors may be included in the term “a Christian.”
