How flooded houses are being repaired
The flood-damaged houses in Invercargill are a homerenovator’s nightmare, and in “The Renovators,” on One at 1.30 p.m. on Sunday, Dave Cull will take a look at them.
The damage caused by the water resulted in most furnishings being ruined, while serious structural damage was also sustained. The programme will show the method of repair being undertaken in several different types of houses, and the immensity of the problem that has resulted in
some families not being able to live in their houses again before Christmas. In the final of the “Uninvited Guest” section of the programme, Effin Older will look at the activities of silverfish and borer, and show how to combat these pests. Dave Cull will be shown fitting the weights to the double-hung window he glazed last week, and will answer a letter from Gisborne, asking how to straighten a warped panel on a second-hand piano.
