Poland joins boycott
NZPA-Reuter Warsaw Poland has become the ninth nation to join the Soviet Union in pulling out of the Los Angeles Olympic Games. The official P.A.P. news agency confirmed the boycott. In a two-paragraph statement, P.A.P. said: “The board of the Polish Olympic Committee held a meeting, attended
also by representatives of Polish sports unions from those sports events which are in the programme of the summer Olympic Games. "It was decided that Polish representation will not be entered for competitions of the 23rd Olympic Games in Los Angeles in connection with the situation surrounding the Games."
