France battles for win
NZPA-Reuter Warsaw France had to battle all the way for a 19-3 win over an inexperienced but determined Polish side in a rugby union international in Warsaw yesterday. The Poles, who were comprehensively thrashed, 49-6, by the French in Paris
three years ago, threatened to spring a major surprise after reaching half-time level at 3-3. But France, which included three internationals in its line-up, ran in three second-half tries and converted two of them to clinch victory.
