Sexist language
Sir, — It is encouraging to read that the Anglican Synod is campaigning against the use of sexist language (May 12). More often than not, attempts to show the important part played by language in reinforcing the stereotyped roles so deeply entrenched in our society meet with scorn and derision. I am glad that this body at least is taking the matter seriously and hope all churches and institutions will be equally responsible. — Yours, etc., DENISE ANKER. May 13, 1984.
