VISITING OPHTHALMOLOGISTS) Vacancy No. 16/14(A) This is a specialist position and the appointee(s) will be based at Southland Hospital, Kew, Invercargill. REGIONAL GERIATRICIAN Vacancy No. 16/15(A) This position is on a full-time or 9/10ths basis and the appointee will be based at Southland Hospital, Kew, Invercargill. Applicants should have an appropriate higher qualification in Medicine with experience in the field of Geriatrics. The appointee will be responsible for the supervision of Geriatric services throughout the Board’s area. At Southland Hospital, the Board has established an 18 bed Geriatric Asessment and Rehabilitation Unit and additional general beds may be made available for this purpose. The Board also has Geriatric beds at Lome Hospital (94 beds), Seddon Memorial Hospital, Gore (24 beds), and Riverton Hospital (99 beds). A new Geriatric Assessment and Rehabilitation Unit (40 beds) is in the process of construction at Southland Hospital and is due to be completed at the end of 1984. WHOLE-TIME OR LOCUM RADIOLOGIST Vacancy No. 16/16(A) This is a specialist position and the appointee will be based at Southland Hospital, Kew, Invercargill. The Department of Medical Imaging (Diagnostic Radiology, Ultrasound and Nuclear Medicine) is well-equipped with a recently installed Gamma Camera, and is under the control of the Director of Medical Imaging. The appointee may have some duties at Seddon Memorial Hospital, Gore, which has 100 beds and a recently updated and well-equipped X-Ray Department.
