Nuclear weapons
Sir,—lt does not matter if politicians consider local nuclear weapons-free zones to be superfluous or not. The facts are that many people are saying that it is time to do something about nuclear weapons. Both the Soviet Union and the United States have frightened the world with their enormous
capability for destruction. This has resulted in mass demonstrations and a rapidly growing global movement for peace. Now it is time to declare both super-Powers a winner and stop the race.—Yours, etc., R. J. SNOYINK, Darfield. May 8, 1984.
