Ten charged with cocaine offences

Rose, aged 32, an air hostess, also of Papatoetoe, Lionel Osbourne Buckton, aged 37, a watersider, of Drury, Rex Barrington Casey, aged 36, a senior cabin attendant, of Mt Eden, Mark Lewis Goold, aged 27, a self-employed painter, of Western Springs and Kenneth James McKee, aged 35,,
unemployed of Takanini. McKee, Buckton, Goold, Gregory, Rose and Shannon Rose were charged with conspiring to supply cocaine between January 1 and May 1. McKee faced a further charge of possessing cannabis for supply on May 1.
Casey was charged with conspiring with Goold, Gregory Rose and Buckton to import lysergide between November 1 and May 1. Gregory Rose faced charges of possessing cannabis for supply with Goold and Shannon Rose and possession of cocaine for supply with Buckton, Goold and Shannon Rose, on May 1.
Shannon Rose was also charged with possessing cannabis plant for supply with Goold and Gregory Rose and, with Goold, Gregory Rose and Buckton possessing cocaine for supply.

At their first court appearance last week, Gregory Rose, Shannon Rose, Goold and Buckton were charged with conspiring to supply cocaine between March 2 and May 1. Gregory Rose, Goold, Buckton and Casey were charged with conspiring to import lysergide into New Zealand between February 1 and May 1.
Buckton faced a third charge of possessing cannabis plant on May 1. McKee, Goold, Casey and Shannon Rose were remanded in custody to July 9 for a preliminary hearing. Gregory Rose and Buckton were remanded in custody to May 16.
Also appearing before Judge Tucker was Alan John Beagle, aged 30, a radio announcer, of Westmere, who admitted possessing cannabis plant, but pleaded not guilty to possessing cocaine. On the charge of possess-
ing cocaine he was remanded on bail to July 25 for a defended hearing. He was convicted and fined $lBO on the cannabis charge. Denise Marie Hetet, aged 27, an air hostess, of Oratia, pleaded not guilty to a charge of procuring cocaine. She was remanded on bail by Judge Tucker to July 25 for the defended hearing.
Peter Lindsay Steel, aged 33, a factory manager, of Remuera, who was charged with procuring cocaine on or about April 18, and Tania Avoca Allen, aged 19, self employed, also of Remuera, who was charged with consuming cocaine on or about April 18, were both remanded without plea on bail to May 16.
