Fijian coup claim
Sir, — I was interested to read Mark D. Sadler’s claim of a coup planned in Fiji during the 1960 s (May 2). If these allegations are true, they would destroy the arguments of those who tell us that the Soviet Union is no threat to the South Pacific. Possible Soviet Union designs on such a near neighbour are of grave concern to every New Zealander. Many readers would be grateful if Mr Sadler could volunteer more information on the subject. — Yours, T. R. LOUDON. May 3, 1984.
