Australia day at Park
Not one, not two, but three Australian rugby teams will be in action at Lancaster Park on Sunday. The main game between the touring Queensland side and Canterbury will be preceded by two curtainraisers, both featuring teams from across the Tasman.
In the first, at 12.10 p.m., the Australian under 17 team will meet Canterbury Country under 17, and at 1.25 p.m. Western Australia will play Canterbury
Maoris. This is the first time Western Australia has played in Christchurch. The main game will be televised live to Queensland, and it will be replayed on New Zealand television on Sunday week. Interest in the game is high and the C.R.F.U. secretary, Mr D. J. Cunningham, is having a busy time answering calls for tickets. However, the game is not a ticketed one. All tickets will be cash sales at the gates on Sunday.
