Bats return to Gladstone
The Bats make a welcome return to the Gladstone Tavern tomorrow and Saturday evenings, as they continue their policy of playing only the occasional show.
The band’s bass guitarist, Paul Kean, said that the Bats were only playing about a gig a month. “We’re keeping it sparse,”
he said, adding that all the members of The Bats were involved in other musical projects and that the band’s lead vocalist and guitarist, Robert Scott, was now living in Dunedin. However, those who enjoy The Bats may be interested to know that a final remix is to be made of the EP the band recorded, and consideration is being given to
have' it distributed through Flying Nun.
Also supporting The Bats are the Belle Motions, who may also be playing on their own at the tavern this evening. The Belle Motions include Mark Wilson, formerly of the Androidss, and Dave Toland, from They Were Expendable.
